Toastmaster Certificate Presentation

Statement by Outsource Fiji Executive Director Ms Sagufta Janif | 27.09.23 | 2pm

Representatives for Capital Toastmasters Suva and club President Mr Elaijie Erasito, BPO Council Executive Member and Talent Development Subcommittee Chair, Mr Erik Van Duivenbode, and invited guest. Bula Vinaka and good afternoon to you all.

On behalf of Outsource Fiji I wish to thank you for being part of today’s program.

Over the past few weeks, Outsource Fiji engaged in a collaborative effort with Capital Toastmasters Suva to introduce a six-week certification initiative for individuals within Fiji’s outsourcing industry, in an effort to upskill their communication and leadership skills by taking them through the internationally recognised Toastmasters certification program.

I’m delighted to share that the pilot upskilling program saw active participation from 30 individuals from various businesses within our membership. The Toastmasters certification is just one facet of our commitment to fostering continuous growth within the industry.

I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Capital Toastmasters Suva for their dedication in delivering this certification program, which had been meticulously tailored to meet the unique demands of Fiji’s outsourcing industry. Through this initiative, we’ve made significant strides in achieving our strategic priority number 4 which focuses on Talent Development.

Such programs are instrumental in nurturing a talent pool comprising highly skilled and well-trained professionals, equipped with industry-specific expertise and exposure to global trends and accreditations. As an industry body, it was imperative for us to provide our workforce with international training and certifications, ensuring the credibility of Fiji’s outsourcing industry.

Furthermore, the Toastmaster International Certification initiative has enabled us to empower even those individuals who are employed in the more technical domains of our industry, fostering their growth in communication and leadership skills, essential for their continuous development.

As you may already know, our people – the people of Fiji – are known to deliver exceptional customer service. Our inherent customer service skills complement our highly qualified workforce making Fiji a unique outsourcing destination. But our work does not stop here. By getting our people accredited and certified, we will be able to see further growth of the industry as businesses can become more confident in our people, allowing us to build and maintain our rapport as a quality outsourcing destination of choice.

At this juncture, I wish to thank and once again acknowledge the team from Capital Toastmasters Suva; the Fiji Government for their support; Ms Hetal Patel who led this initiative; and our participants – for successfully completing this certification and for being the pioneers of this program. I wish you all the very best and hope to see you continue to grow in the industry.

Vinaka
