As the after-effects of the COVID-19 pandemic still linger, many New Zealand businesses are facing challenges in finding quality workforce, especially in areas like customer support, admin and finance, IT support and other back-office operations. To help businesses address this challenge, Outsource Fiji, in partnership with the Australian Government Market Development Facility and the Fiji Consulate General and Trade Commission – Australia and New Zealand, is extending New Zealand businesses a helping hand with nearshoring opportunities!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses outsourcing to other countries such as the Philippines and India were unable to fully perform their operations due to the countries’ virus containment challenges, however, Fiji on the other hand had a strategic approach to containing the virus; ensuring Fijians are vaccinated on time, and deeming the outsourcing industry as an essential service provider.
The industry also saw an introduction of great tax incentives by the Fijian Government, and a full-time operational industry body – Outsource Fiji – that focused on marketing, enabling, protecting, and growing the sector.
With these positive developments, Fiji’s outsourcing industry grew rapidly with approximately 5000 more Fijians employed within two years – shifting from 3000 employed in the sector prior to COVID-19 to 8000 as of June this year.
While we’ve been happily providing a global workforce to our Australian Vuvale for over a decade, Fiji, now being looked at as a premium and risk diversification destination by countries like the UK and USA, is opening its doors to its neighboring country, Aotearoa, and providing an opportunity to explore the industry through this event!
With a large cluster of businesses being based in Auckland, this symposium and exhibition will feature keynote presentations, industry panel discussions, global brand case studies, interactive sessions, booth exhibitions by businesses operating in Fiji’s outsourcing industry, and a networking cocktail.
Who can attend?
This symposium is open to businesses in the following sectors:
- Accounting and Finance
- Online retail
- Any business that requires back-office support.
It is also open to businesses of the Fijian diaspora who wish to create Pasifika employment by opening a branch in Fiji.
While this is an exclusive event, Outsource Fiji will not be charging our guests to attend, simply because we wish to host the New Zealand businesses and help them understand about our industry and business opportunities in Fiji.
