BPOs from Fiji’s outsourcing industry are expected to share their service offering with potential New Zealand clients. Outsource Fiji’s Executive Director, Ms Sagufta Janif said Australia’s partnership over the past three years had immensely assisted the industry in strengthening its presence in the international arena as a premier alternative outsourcing services provider and creating employment opportunities for the people of Fiji.
“We are thankful to the Australian Government through its Market Development Facility for continuing its partnership with Outsource Fiji and providing us with technical and financial support that will allow us to further achieve our strategic priorities. With the renewal of this partnership, we will be able to build onto our existing activities and plans, especially in the areas of marketing and workforce development”.
“Outsource Fiji is also glad to share that MDF will be our official major partner for the first Fiji Outsourcing Symposium and Exhibition scheduled to be held on 22nd February at Cordis, Auckland”, she added.
Through this strategic partnership, MDF and Outsource Fiji are working on a number of initiatives including marketing activities to promote Fiji as an alternative, premier destination in nearshore and international markets, and improve industry coordination, advocacy, and human resource development programs.
“We are proud to partner with Outsource Fiji to continue our collaborative efforts to strengthen Fiji’s visibility as an outsourcing destination and support the growth of the sector, which is creating more employment opportunities for the people of Fiji,” said MDF Fiji’s Acting Country Director, Kelera Cavuilati.
Fiji’s outsourcing services sector has grown significantly from an estimated USD34 million in 2021 to USD47 million annually (one percent of GDP) in 2022 and now employs approximately 8,000 people. Fiji is a strong contender for nearshore clients such as Australia and New Zealand.
